Finding this book in the library was a very happy surprise. I immediately checked it out and was able to zip through it in a few days. I read Lorna Landvik's Patty Jane's House of Curl years ago and had enjoyed it but it has been so many years I didn't remember much of the story. I can only remember that it took place in Minnesota and I liked it very much. Plus, I needed a bit of space after reading A Column of Fire. In Once in a Blue Moon Lodge , we return to Minnesota,1988. Patty Jane has decided it's time to close down her House of Curl, etc. What began as a hair salon morphed into not only a place where you could get a color and a cut, but a salon where the neighbors attended salsa dancing, author visits, music recitals, and all sorts of classes and events.
